sensitive investigation of the territory and marine area
Look, wander, walk, explore, map the landscape and town or small commune. They have been some of the constant themes in the research methodology for my authorial development. Understanding the territory as a concept that allows us to encompass all these gestures that are the object of study in the arts and that, from processes of observation and evolution in the environment, articulate and understand (as the artist and feminist theorist Lucy Lippard would call it) "A complex politics of nature.
This political exploration deals with the intercultural and the transversalities that derive from it, from the landscape to the relations with extractivist development, as well as pointing out interactive artistic actions that involve the community and the connections that are established in certain spaces. It is here, at this crossroads, where I focus on proposing to think about the complexity that, through the territory and marine area, is enunciated as a complex politics of nature.
These relationships can be interpreted as a kind of "nostalgic" feeling that seeks to establish connections with what identifies us, what is our own: a return, finding a place, inhabiting from the 'natural', the industrial and its convergences or combinations. This imprint has a background that reflects on "the loss of roots", a reflection closely linked to the place and the way in which, from the practices that come from art, it is possible to generate or strengthen ways of exercising citizenship from the relationship with the environment that we visit, inhabit. , we travel, we reflect, we invade or we map. The experiences and experiments on the territory have as an implicit objective to recognize the place and to recognize ourselves from the multiple manifestations that in the habitation build the individual and the collective.

In the Sacrifice Zones (Mejillones, Antofagasta, Quintero, Puchuncaví, Chiloé) the past is understood as a gestural trace that builds and edifies what we call territory, but in this case the stories and memories of its inhabitants are visited (putting into question value their trades linked to the sea such as shore gatherers, fishermen, divers, among others) and their own territory: the edge, the border, what is their own, stories about conflicts in the face of industrial destruction and how these experiences of memory and territory articulate an expanded view of the "landscape".

Thinking about the territory from creative authorship is walking through the passages of memory, understanding how in the recovery, in the excavation, in the orality of small and large stories of the daily life, of the ancestral and even of customs, can be build and articulate relationships between the body, landscape and memory. From this logic of the expanded landscape that can resignify and give roots to one's own using artistic practices to try to heal wounds and repair from the sensitive.

As argued then, the practice and the territory are fed to the extent of the bond and dialogue, prioritizing sensitivity and necessity, as an urgent task, in the search to value those who inhabit and defend the territory and marine area a place of history, memory and life development.
