Claudia Moreno Pastenes 

Born in Antofagasta, Second Region of Chile, on July 8, 1992. Visual artist, scenic designer, performing arts producer and communicator. As a child she played the cello alongside scientific-humanist study at the Liceo Experimental Artístico of Antofagasta, delving into the world of plastic art, collage and sewing inherited from her grandmother and mother. 

DEMOLER

Since 2017, she has been working in theatrical production and communication/design area with different theater and performatic companies and artists in Antofagasta, Santiago and Valparaíso.

 

In 2022, she recovered an old house in Antofagasta and founded and direct the "Teatro Demoler", a self-managed and artist-administered exhibition space, benefiting an average of 200 artists annually (including performers, technicians, filmmakers), more than a dozen of companies and different groups that have exhibited in the space; In addition to receiving an average of 1,500 viewers in its first year; this in the midst of the crisis of cultural spaces in the commune. In addition, it opened its doors as the venue for the Teatro a Mil and FITZA Zicosur, scenic arts summer festivals. Also, is jury of the Festival Teatro a Mil 2023, theather area. 

Today, it continues to be a meeting space for performing artists, as well as for literary and organizational activities for the LGBTIQ+ community, receiving thousands of spectators, and even scenic companies from other countries such as Argentina, Uruguay and Bolivia. LINK SITE

MEMORY OF THE WORKERS OF NORTHERN CHILE 

Directing in parallel, annually to date, the Cycle of Performing Arts and Workers' Memory "Matanza en tu Plaza" in commemoration of the fallen of the worker massacre that occurred in 1906 in the Plaza Colón in her city. Large-scale heritage, historical and cultural event that since 2017 has brought together hundreds of people in the main square of the mining capital. A cultural initiative that allows linking historiographic work, theater and community ties for exercises of working-class memory and regional identity in northern Chile. LINK SITE

DEMOLER GALLERY ART

In her interest in disseminating the artistic creation of women and LGBTIQA+ from northern Chile, she founded Galería Demoler, an exhibition space for non-conventional visual arts. Holding monthly exhibitions with launch activities with performances and seminars on art far from the capitals, in distant and desert communes like Antofagasta. The purposes of this gallery are related to exhibition, linking between artists, generation of support networks, carrying out mediation of their works in perspective of circulation and possibility of sale.  Thus, it achieves the circulation of six artists in 2024 at the most important contemporary art fair in Chile: Ch.ACO-14 at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM). This initiative was developed as a team with Fernanda Sánchez S., managing partner, and with curators, architects, poets and associated designers in a supportive and self-managed logic, as is the trend in the Demoler projects. SCENIC DESIGN

Since 2020, from the Regional Training Program in Scenic Design, she has perfected herself in her different fields, designing and performing for different performing arts companies, also finding in the realization, production and scenic design a place from which to create from her interests.
